Customer Story

Boels Portable Kitchens

The Boels Portable Kitchens division supplies temporary kitchen facilities in the form of containerized construction (Units) to various clients such as hospitals, defense, refugee shelters, and larger companies mainly in the Benelux, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Of course, these kitchen unit arrangements must also be supplied with power. Sometimes our customer does this themselves, but often we are asked to provide this power distribution as well. Then a temporary power distribution box and the cabling up to the various units must be planned and connected. Since this setup is always different (sometimes 4 units, but sometimes 60 units), planning for this is incredibly important.

There are many companies that use terms such as flexible, customer focus, innovative and best service in their slogan and mission statement to convince customers that they are the best. Van Lieshout Elektra applies this in practice and I would like to illustrate this with a few examples:

I could cite dozens of examples, but the one I remember most is the order for a large American online shop with its headquarters in central Germany. Here we had a Container setup of 12 units including canteen in the form of a tent of 25x30M for a rental period of half a year. About 2 weeks before delivery, the customer found out that they could not get materials for power distribution in time. So we had very little time from quotation to execution and it was only due to the flexibility of van Lieshout that this could all be executed neatly before the handover date.

Another example is a recent project in Belgium at van der Valk. During construction, the customer wanted a unit turned 180° so that the power connection would be about 10 meters away from the distribution box. With one phone call it was arranged that the mechanic from van Lieshout was on site the very next day with a longer cable to connect the unit. Where other companies first make a quote, which requires an order to be given and so a week passed.

Service during the rental period is also excellent. If there is a power failure at a customer’s site, van Lieshout calls the customer immediately so there is no noise in communication, and if it is necessary to fix a fault on site it is always resolved at very short notice.

Furthermore, van Lieshout thinks along when a project has to be won and the price still has to be negotiated. For example, if we have to give a discount on the total project, van Lieshout often goes along with this. Furthermore, a company like Boels is always on the lookout for new suppliers offering a better price, service, etc. It therefore says a lot that we have been working with van Lieshout for more than 15 (or even longer?) years. This is only possible if all factors fit.

In summary, I can only emphasize that with van Lieshout Elektra, Boels has had a reliable partner for decades and together we have realized many beautiful projects at home and abroad.
